Through the unwavering support of his parents, community, and foundations, Nathan was given the chance to grow, dream, and pursue sport. His story traces the path from childhood challenges to his Paralympic swimming debut in Rio 2016, his retirement and transition, and ultimately his return to professional para sport as a cyclist. Nathan reflects on the hurdles, lessons, and triumphs that led to his first Paralympic medal at the Paris Games.
Presented by Andreia Pacheco, Jenna Kedy and Tyler Harris
This session dives deep into what it really means to live with a disability. Hear from some of our Tru Faces ambassadors as they share their lived experiences and how they came to not only accept their disability, but to live confidently with it. Expect laughter, the cold hard truth, and a whole lot of “omg, same.” Whether you’re disabled yourself, love someone who is, or just want to learn how to be a better ally, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how we can show up better for ourselves and each other, while challenging stereotypes and building positive relationships.
Presented by Michayla Del Guidice
Not all disabilities are visible and that can make them even harder to live with. In this honest and empowering session, Michayla Del Guidice shares her journey as a woman on the autism spectrum navigating life with a hidden disability. From masking her true self in school and the workplace, to finally embracing her neurodivergent identity with confidence and pride, Michayla offers a raw look at what it means to unlearn shame and reclaim your story. Participants will leave this session feeling seen, heard, and inspired to rethink their assumptions about disability. Through storytelling, reflection, and community connection, this talk will challenge stigma, celebrate authenticity, and remind us all that disability is not something to hide—it’s something to honour.
